Changing Microsoft Active Directory Password from Debian 11 server

in flag

Bonjour,

We running an on premise Microsoft active directory DAP system on Windows Server 2016.

On the side, we also have several Debian 11 running web applications and we would like to move the authentication backend of our web applications to AD. The issue is, if we opt for AD authentication, how would users change their password without having to log into a domain computer and change password there.

My questions are:

  1. Is there a way to change an AD user password from a Linux server via PHP? what would be the requirements?
  2. Is there a linux command that could change an AD user password?
  3. Can a Linux server which is not part of a domain, change user password? If so, how?

Thank you.

On domain-joined rhel boxes our users can change their password with the passwd command.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
