I am setting up a high availability load balancer. I found this tutorial from Digital Ocean which says that two load balancers can share a common floating IP.

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/networking/floating-ips/#how-to-implement-an-ha-setup

What is this floating IP and how does it work?

Can one set it up by one's self (without using Digital Ocean)

change status code in nginx response
cf flag

I have a need to replace the status code in proxied response (500 => 404) but keep original body and request method.

I looked at error_page directive but it's not suitable because it changes request method to GET and returns in body content provided by given URI.

So, any thoughts will be highly appreciated.

We are in the beginning stages of migrating projects from our current developers Google Platform to an in-house new Google Platform. We are new to this environment and have setup the Google account and entered billing information. The current developer has sent two invites for the two projects that they were currently handling for us. I accepted the invites, however it tells me that we do not have an ...

How can a file be visible to a regular user but non-existent to root?

I have asked this question yesterday but it was marked as duplicate and closed because of its context, as it was thought to be an X/Y question, whereas I was just interested in the general matter of "how this could be", as my personal research (on this website as well as on the internet) returned nothing and I'd like to learn more about how to detect and deal with that kind of peculiar issue.

What's the endpoint running at `include:spf.example.com` as seen in an SPF record in DNS?
gb flag

How can I run an SPF include endpoint for my organisation?

In this example, the SPF record for a domain permits hosts included via the spf.example.com list, and prohibits everything else:

"v=spf1 include:spf.example.com ~all"

Use case: I have slightly more than the max 10 hosts permitted in SPF by RFC4408, and I would prefer to run my own spf.example.com as a single include in the DNS record.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
