I am looking for a way to loadbalance two web servers.

Should the Load Balancer be software or does there exist a loadbalancer on router(not dural WAN connections) or on a Switch?

Thanks

Does proxypass put a toll on network traffic for streamable sources?
in flag

First of all I have never tried it and it may not be possible, but I do imagine a case when things like AWS S3 services offers files on their "buckets", and some part of security procedure is to tamper the real URL.

Many systems do this by passing the response through their backend, like they convert:

s3.bucket.example-com-44512.aws.eu/image/file/0x123abc

into

example.com/file/123

Unable to mount an XFS filesystem from Linux RAID6 array ("Log inconsistent")

Bob

First time poster - my apologies if I don't get the etiquette correct.

I have a ~200TB RAID6 array with 30 disks and I'm unable to mount it - I just get the message:

mount /dev/md125 /export/models
mount:/dev/md125: can't read superblock

If I run mdadm --detail on it, it shows as clean:

/dev/md125:

Dovecot Mail-Crypt plugin using users password from userdb
ru flag

I've been looking into encrypting the emails on my Dovecot server to provide actual secure storage of emails (Based of users passwords, naturally). Problem is that it seems that even though Dovecot can get the decryption key from a database, it can't use a password, seemingly requiring an actual public/private key pair, instead of just using the password hash somehow to encrypt the emails.

Procmail autoresponse to a single sender (or few ones)
in flag

I've been looking some similar examples and slight changes to them to perform that but unsuccessfully. This is the first recipe at $HOME/.procmailrc of the user "me".
Mail is received by [email protected] but the auto response is not sent. Centos 7, Postfix
procmail log doesn't say anything about that.

How should the EFI System partition be made redundant without using hardware RAID?

What is BCP for making the EFI System partition redundant without using hardware RAID?

If I create 3x EFI System partitions on different devices and then backup any changes made to the primary (mounted at /boot/efi) to the backup devices (mounted at /boot/efi-[bc]):

  • Will the system still boot if the primary device fails, i.e. will it select one of the backup EFI system partitions?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
