NFSv4 and kerberos: access denied 50% of the time
bd flag

We are trying to mount NFSv4 shares on RHEL 8 clients, with kerberos. We have a very similar setup on another environment, and it worked fine. But on this setup, it happens that we get access denied around 50% of the times we try to mount a share:

Set IIS 10 server to public

I'm pretty new to fiddling with servers (have a background in programming, but not server management), so please bear with me if I ask basic questions and link through to any tutorials you think I should follow.

I'm trying to set up a public IIS 10 server from an AWS Windows VM. From the VM I can connect to the localhost, but from anywhere else the connection results in ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. I think ...

SFTP client connection fails using hostname
ae flag

I have configured a debian server, hosting a website, for FTPS access using vsftpd. Port 22, SSL enabled. When testing the connection with FileZilla, I successfully connect if I put the server's IP address in the host field. If I put the wesbsite's hostname, it fails. The server is under a private router with dynamic IP. Therefore, I am using a dynamic DNS service provided by Dynu DNS (my internet provide ...

Bridged Network showing up as 'Unidentified Network' with no internet in Windows Server VM

I have been trying to have Windows Server in a virtual machine. However, I need it to be connected to the host network. After setting up a Bridge in /etc/network/interfaces, the bridge had internet connection. However, in the Windows Server VM, the network would show up as "Unidentified Network" and has no internet. I have installed the virtio drivers from here (using iso file)

Using a RAID Controller as Pass-thru vs RAID0
de flag

I have a server with DellPerc H750 Storage controller.

I want to use the controller as Pass-thru/Non-RAID but I have the below questions:

A) Is it possible in the future to replace the controller with a HBA one without losing data ?

B) If I used the RAID0 configuration for each disk independently instead of the pass-thru config , would that lead to a better performance or not ?

However, upon reboot, the system doesn't seem to boot. Any reasons why ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
