Telnet IP address slow response on Windows 2019
in flag

My networking knowledge is limited to just Ping, Ipconfig and basics so this question might seem strange or inadequate. I've installed a custom SMTP server (which I've used successfully on many different machines) on a newly installed Windows 2019 server, and it is responding slowly even using the Telnet test tool on port 25. SMTP Response 220 takes 15 seconds to return even on test local network that ...

In windows 10 how do I allow users to set up windows hello fingerprint?
cn flag

I have a windows organization for which I'm the administrator. The users are registered to an Azure active directory which is managed with Intune.

When I set up the computer I first sign in with my windows admin account. Then I add the the user's account as a normal user.

When my users try to set up fingerprint or picture sign in, they are getting the alert in the image below.

Can I move my encryption key (used for SQL always encrypted) from a key vault in one Azure tenant to another?
us flag

We have migrated a database (backup to .bacpac and restore to the new tenant) but the database was encrypted using always encrypted and the key is stored in the original tenant's key vault. I can look at the data in SQL management studio by authenticating with the first tenant when it tries to decrypt (it automatically pops up the authentication dialog), but I need to move the key so my web app can acce ...

How to set websocket reverse proxy with both proxy_set_header and SSL allowed?

I get a project where the outer websocket reverse-proxy is implemented by nginx stream.

However, steam only means "TCP" and it lost http features like writing the IP's alone the route.

Here is the config of the outer layer in encrypted SSL:

Ways to log exact wifi connection establishment issues

I have recently started working with a museum (UK) who's 1-year-old Cisco wifi setup has been experiencing connectivity issues from day 1.

Essentially a significant proportion of devices (both in-house and personal) are unable to connect to wifi - user selects an SSID, enters correct password, authenticates and instantly the connection is dropped. This effects some laptops, phones and tablets, bu ...

We recently got a "too many open files" error in our production Wildfly 17 on debian 9. A simple restart of the wildfly service got rid of the error but I'd like to avoid the problem to come back. I'd like to increase the limit but I'm not sure what I should change and how can i know the configuration as been taken into account.

What is the Apache equivalent of Nginx set_real_ip_from and real_ip_header for proxy protocol?

Nginx has set_real_ip_from and real_ip_header proxy_protocol directive to restrict the trusted IP address of the TCP load balancer. https://docs.nginx.com/nginx/admin-guide/load-balancer/using-proxy-protocol/

But Apache only have RemoteIPTrustedProxy, which only works on the traditional X-Forwarded-For header.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
