VNC session open windows in local destop

ng flag

I have a problem with application windows launching during VNC session

On Ubuntu 18.04 start the server

vncserver :2 -localhost -geometry 1920x1080 -depth 16

On Windows 10 machine run SSH tunnel\

ssh -N -L 5902:localhost:5902 username@serverip

And then on Windows run the RealVNC viewer session, no bugs happen here

Now there are 2 desktops

  • Local Desktop, the one I see on the monitor physically connected to the Linux machine
  • VNC Desktop

If I run Chrome, Slack, VSCode application in VNC session, the new window pop ups on the Local Destop.
But for the Nautilus, Sublime and Gnome Terminal it works as expected - application launched from the VNC Desktop shows up on the VNC Desktop.

It smells like a Chromium problem, but is there any fix yet?

how to make Chromium-browser start on vnc display?

Can I explicitly specify the display? Or temporary lock the local display, when the VNC is active?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
