No Network or USB Devices after updates autoinstalled on Ubuntu Desktop 20.04.02

ph flag

I have a Ubuntu Desktop 20.04.02 that I run Retropi/Emulation Station on and I powered it on yesterday for a little retro gaming action and Ubuntu said there were updates available so I let them apply. After the reboot, I have no network at all and it's not recognizing my USB Arcade stick controller. Everything was working perfect before these updates. To test the NIC I booted to a Ubuntu USB stick and ran it from LIVECD and it, both Wired and Wireless networks were there and everything worked correctly. I booted back to the installed copy and no networks.

Whatever updates that got applied really hosed things up. I have a lot of time of building Emulation station and don't want to re-install Ubuntu.

Is there any way to fix this?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
