I can not access the internet via Ubuntu browsers. I can access the internet by booting Ubuntu from a live USB memory stick, so the hardware is OK. From within the Genymotion Android emulator I can send and receive WhatsApp messages, so the Wi-Fi appears to be working. I can't access the internet via android browsers or I can't reach Google Playstore from within Genymotion. At the same time there is a question mark on the Wi-Fi icon on the top right of the screen. If I switch between Wi-Fi signals it indicates that there is a connection to the new signal. The problem started around the time that I was switching between Protonvpv and Riseupvpn. I uninstalled both VPNs to no avail.

The hardware is a Sony Vaio VPCEH2H1E laptop and a TP-Link TL-WR841N router.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
