Xsane scans in grey only to 18.04 from canon TS5100

cn flag

Ubuntu 18.04.05, fully updated as of 4th July 2021. Scanning from Canon TS5150 multifunction. Connection via USB.

When scanning from Xsane 0.99, both preview and final scan are greyscale. Canon scangearmp2 installed from Canon website.

The printer function of the same machine works OK.

Result of scanimage -L:

scanimage -L device `canon_pixma:libusb:001:006' is a CANON TS5100 series flatbed scanner

gscan2pdf scanned in color, though very slow to initialize.

So I can get a color scan from the scanner to the machine, but not with Xsane. I did try and enable color management in the Xsane preferences, it comes up with an error message:

Error during CMS conversion: Could not open scanner ICM profile:

I previously had a HP multifunction on this install, which worked fine.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
