Problem installing Lubuntu on M58p

us flag

I used Lubuntu 21.04 Desktop amd 64.ISO for install on a M58p

I get Error messages like:

ACPI Bios error bug Failure creating named object _SB.PIC0._CAPB AE Already exits 20201113 dsfield 184..
AE Already Exists
ACPI Error AE Already Exits
ACPI Error Aborting method\_SB.PCI0._OSC...
ACPI INT0800:00: platform device creation failed
Failed to start Snap Daemon

I do know that M58p had a Intel Processor (E8400 Core2Duo?), may that be the reason for Installation fail? Which Lubuntu or Kubuntu Version use then instead?

Help appreciated..:>>))

It might help if you start with what release of Lubuntu, which ISO you're using, if you validated the ISO prior to write to media, validated the write to your media etc... (how each is done varies on *unstated* release)

The CPU you mention is not a problem as `hp dc7900 (c2d-e8400, 4gb, intel 4 series integrated i915)` is one of the machines used for QA-testing Lubuntu releases and has been used up to current *impish* (will be released as 21.10). Did you validate the ISO before writing to media? (https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/1/1.1/retrieving_the_image.html) Verifying 21.04 media is hard if it doesn't boot, so I'd try booting the media on another box (the only issue older HPs had was in *groovy* cycle so media booted on all boxes except hp's & that was fixed).. How long did you wait for boot? >15min?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
