Kubuntu Vault won't open and I cannot access pictures. Also I can't connect to internet, not even with LAN wire

So I transfered a bunch of photos and videos to my new vault. And now I can't open vault. Also no wifi or LAN cable access to internet.... What's going on? These pictures are precious to me. I choose Linux for secure and open-source. I didn't know I could get locked out of my own photo. Anyone please help?

I am making a snapshot and will restore an earlier one in hopes the video and pics are there. I don't think they are though...maybe. I am trying to see how to access the vault though....something is wrong that I don't understand. These pictures and videos are about 2 months of my son's life that I really don't want to lose :(

Hi thanks for responding. I created the vault last night. Draged over the photos and when I went to open the vault today. It said "another program is using vault." It won't mount either I don't think. I dont know what to do

You might want to use a live session. This is the "Try Ubuntu" option when booting Kubuntu installation media. From there you may be able to unlock the vault. There shouldn't be any applications using it because the live session is similar to a fresh installation, except you can access file systems on the device.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
