Ubuntu 20 is not installing on a formatted disk?

us flag

I installed Ubuntu18 on my extra SSD on MacPro about a month ago just to give it a go. Then I wanted to upgrade from 18 by formatting the disk and reinstalling version 20. But now when I reboot to install it from USB, the system is not showing the 'EFI boot' option anymore.

Having no other option, I went ahead to install Mac OS which is the default, but on entering disk utility I see that it only detects a disk space 1.14gb although the original capacity is 500. So it seems like the formatting was not suitable neither for Ubuntu nor for Mac.

Any advice to correct this will be highly appreciated.

I'm a bit confused as to why your system is not giving you the option to boot from a USB anymore. When you use disk utility, you need to click the sidebar button next to "Disk Utility" and then click "Show all devices". Then, you'll hopefully be able to see your SSD. The 1.14 GB disk could have been a partition on the USB you created to install Ubuntu.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
