Screen redraw stale on right and bottom edges after resolution change

de flag

I am running Parallels 16 on a Mac OS host (Macbook Pro 16", 2019), with an Ubuntu 20.04 VM as guest. I am using i3wm.

Problem is that in the Ubuntu VM, the bottom ~30% or right ~30% edges of the screen don't refresh until Window focus shifts or I click the mouse elsewhere. So for example, when in Chrome full screen, parts of web app that are on the far right don't redraw/refresh. When I'm in a full screen terminal, the bottom ~30% of screen doesn't update when I enter a command, and I only see the refresh when I click elsewhere.

I experience this only after I xrandr the resolution from a default 1024x768 to a preferred 1792x1120. The ratios between the two resolutions corresponding to the problematic % of screen areas is obviously suspect.

I'd appreciate any pointers on diagnosing this, or if anything obvious/suspect sticks out to anyone. Thanks in advance.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
