GPU hang while long run 4k video play on VLC (ubuntu 18 or 20)

Please help to ptovide your suggestion for the following issue. Thanks in advance!

VLC hang or re-boot when play 4k video under ubuntu environment with over night. (sometime hang couple hours or close to 72 hours)

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration?

Thanks ! Seems system is very slow and dispaly almost freeze while disable the HW acceleration decoding even change to other accelration. I do not know whether this issue is relate to i915 driver for Intel Dektop CPU J3455.
