How do I fix touchscreen issues after upgrading to 21.04 from 20.10?

ad flag

I have upgraded to Ubuntu 21.04 from 20.10. But after the upgrade, the touchscreen of my laptop (HP Pavilion) has started to misbehave in odd ways. It has started registering touch inputs even when I am not touching the screen at all. As a result, it randomly opens dialog boxes, or the top notification and date panel, or will randomly resize the windows...

Is there any solution to the problem, is this a common / known issue? Are there any solutions?

If it's a reported/known issue it will be found on launchpad which is the bug tracker. Have you looked? This isn't a bug tracker. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
