20.04 LTS issues swapping harddrives between computers

lc flag

I'm having issues swapping my hard drive with Ubuntu server on it between computers. It works fine when I swap it from the original laptop to my legion 15, but it gives me,"Reboot and select proper boot device" on an older Asus U46E. Tried various configs in the boot menu. It is an ssd.

Windows hard drive works fine on Asus.

List of things tried:

  • UEFI enabled/disabled
  • SATA to IDE then to ACHI
  • Configured boot device override
  • Secure boot off
  • Tried boot repair disk no work
  • updated bios from 296 to 301

Let me know if there is more information you need to help solve this. Thanks.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
