Issue installing Brother printer, Device URI "unable to locate printer"

br flag

Installing Brother printer for the first time following the instructions found at this link, Brother - Driver Install Tool:

...

  1. Get superuser authorization with the "su" command or "sudo su" command.

  2. Run the tool:

    Command: bash linux-brprinter-installer-*.*.*-* Brother <machine name>

    e.g. bash linux-brprinter-installer-2.1.1-1 MFC-J880DW

  3. The driver installation will start. Follow the installation screen directions.

When you see the message "Will you specify the DeviceURI ?",

    For USB Users: Choose N(No)

For Network Users: Choose Y(Yes) and DeviceURI number.

The install process may take some time. Please wait until it is complete.

I entered in Y for network users. The following device URI has been established. "dnssd://Brother%20HL-2280DW._ipp._tcp.local/" IP address found in the printer settings was applied.

In printer settings the following is stated,

Processing - Unable to locate printer.

I'm not able to print obviously.

Printer is not connected via USB. How do I go about resetting the printer URI to the proper input?

Is `The following device URI has been established. "dnssd://Brother%20HL-2280DW._ipp._tcp.local/" IP address found in the printer settings was applied.` an actual output message, or your description of what happens? It is not clear.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
