How to open program windows on the screen where it was clicked on instead of where the mouse is currently?

Using Ubuntu 21.04 (Wayland) on a laptop with additional external monitor. Never changed anything regarding application on-screen location AFAIR. I started with Ubuntu 16.04 and always upgraded in between, so it's likely that some settings may be different to the fresh-install default if Ubuntu changed them in the mean time for fresh installations.

Currently program windows open where the mouse cursor is at the time when the program finally gets to the point in its execution where it finally renders its main window. But many programs need several seconds to fully boot up. When I start two applications, one on left and one on right screen, I have to wait several seconds between the clicks, instead of just clicking fast on the launcher bar on one and then the other screen. Else both programs will load on the same screen where the mouse is now, not where I initially clicked the mouse if I'm to fast. Which is really annoying.

Is there an easy way to configure deterministically where applications load their main window?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
