Secondary monitor working, laptop screen black

ua flag

I've been using a dock for my laptop for some time now and it has always worked fine, but now my laptop screen stays black, with the secondary dock monitor working just fine. I have a dual boot with Windows and on there the screen works just fine. With nomodeset the laptop screen does turn on, but then the secondary monitor doesn't work.

I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 on the HP EliteBook 840 G5 3JX27EA. My laptop has Intel graphics. Not sure what info is relevant here but I'd be happy to provide anything else.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
