I have just downloaded iso image of lubuntu 20.04
When I set boot sequence to boot into it instead of my internal hard-drive OS which is Ubuntu 20.04, (I decided to try lubuntu version because I have an older model Dell PC that needs a super light OS to function half way decently.. haha)
It's a Dell Latitude e6400 if that information helps at all.
I am semi aware of this exact issue I'm currently having with the ubuntu latest releases and I did fix my connection issues in my ubuntu OS somehow after atleast 2 days worth of troubleshooting and frustrations, but I can't find the answer that solves the problem now with my lubuntu version.
In system information on the BIOS menu I found under device information that the "WiFi Device=Dell Wireless"
"Cellular Device=(none)"
"Bluetooth Device=Installed"
"Intergrated NIC MAC= 00-24-E8-A9-3B-CA"
"Processor Type= Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40GHz"
"Core Count=2"
In BIOS Menu under "Wifi Catcher", I have it disabled... (But it originally was Enabled at the beginning of my problem.)
"Wireless Devices:" Enabled Internal Wireless WLAN, WWAN, and Bluetooth.
I know a few commands now that I'm going to switch over to lubuntu and run to edit my post here with their outputs for you guys.
I tried connecting to the internet via USB tethering with my Android phone also, and had no luck. It connected for 3 seconds and then shut off and wouldn't connect a second time.
I tried bluetooth tethering as well to get internet so I could install the additional drivers that I think helped fix the issue for me last time, but it won't connect via bluetooth either.
I manually entered in what details I could figure out went in the spaces available if I choose to "edit connections" in the network manager tool and then "add" a wifi connection from there.
The broadcom driver I previously had to do install also shows as an additional driver that could be installed, but I can't get connected to an internet connection to see if that will solve my connection issues.
Sorry I know this post is all over the place, I am just trying to provide all the details I can think of to get the quickest solution hopefully here.
Going to log off here and reboot my lubuntu to run a few commands, will be back soon! Please help guys, I'm so lost on what I am supposed to do here lol.
