Recovery mode failed and can't login

tr flag

When I try to boot up Ubuntu recovery mode, it fails. Then I am asked to enter login and password. When I do that, I got a message that I only can see for about half a second, then it disappeares and ask me to enter login and password again. The message is : "Last Login: Mon Aug 9 13:37:05 CEST 2021 on tty1".

It's hard to see in your video, but it looks like you may have the option of 2 different kernels in the boot menu. Have you tried selecting the "other" recovery mode? What were you doing before this happened? In particular, did you just edit any shell startup files?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
