Incoming e-mails from Pegasus : frames are blank

IMAP on Ubuntu The IMAP incoming e-mails show no content. Only a blank field. The headers (from, subject, etc) are shown. The email software + IMAP parameters are correct.

I made a test by forwarding such a blank e-mail Curiously, then the content of the e-mail appears.

  • The since 1996 used email software : Pegasus www.pmail.com on Windows

  • Using 2 OS : Ubuntu and Windows, we decided to use only one : Ubuntu

  • Through WINE we implemented Pegasus on Ubuntu. On Windows, with the email software + IMAP, do not face this situation.

Any suggestion to solve it on Ubuntu ? Thank you

I used Pegasus long ago, so don't remember it too well, but many IMAP clients have configurable option to download only mail headers or dwonload the full contents, and the first one is usually the default. Can it be your case? Maybe on Windows you have already changed this option long ago, and on WINE, with fresh installation, it's still set as default...

Also I guess it should not be too hard to move your existing mail archive from Pegasus to other email client. I guess Pegasus can export messages to standard Unix mailbox format, and then you can import them from that format for example to Thunderbird, which is a great email program I recommend, and is installed by default in Ubuntu.

It is not only moving the Pegasus e-mail archive to an other email client, it is also the habit to work with Pegasus. Moving an e-mail archive is not necessary an easy task.

If you are changing the OS from Windows to Linux, then you will need to change many habits, because the applications you will work with will behave differently. Maybe it's a good time to change the e-mail application as well... :)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
