ubuntu not recognizing 3060ti

i have Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS and a GTX 3060ti graphics card.

Ubuntu does not seem to recognize the GTX 3060ti

As long as it installs the correct drivers it shouldn't be a problem. For newer hardware newer releases are strongly recommended.

why do you think it does not recognize the 3060 ti? for me it looks like it should. Please check the output of `nvidia-smi`

@pLumo Yeah im assuming its not recognized because the device comes back as "unknown" and model name, I have shown the output of that command in my OP

What does `nvidia-smi --query-gpu=name --format=csv,noheader` give?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding.
