VirtualBox: Accessing Windows host clipboard history from a Xubuntu guest

ng flag

I have a Xubuntu 20.04 guest VM running in Virtualbox on a Windows 10 host. Guest Additions are installed.

On the Windows host, I can access the clipboard history using the ⊞ Win+V key combination. The list will contain entries from both the host and the guest in the order of insertion and I can select which one to paste, and also delete unwanted entries.

On the Xubuntu guest, I can only paste (using Shift+Ins for example).

How can I get access to the (shared) clipboard history from the guest, preferably in a similar way to how Windows does it - popping up a visual list on a hotkey press?

Windows clipboard history example, with text and images from both the host and the guest:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
