Mounting shared drives - uppercase letters in directory

de flag

On our storage we have two directories 'public' and 'Public' (probably not a smart idea anyway). Now I need to mount 'Public' on my Ubuntu server (with cifs as it's windows shared drives with samba). Is there a way to get this done as cifs seems to be case-insensitive?

The short answer is “probably”. However, I doubt this is the answer you are looking for. So, to save you a bunch of time, could you [edit] your question to include: (1) what version of Ubuntu you are using to mount the shared network resources (2) the command(s) you are using to mount the Samba share (3) the exact errors you are seeing when trying to mount the resource. With this information, there is a better chance that someone might have a solution to your problem

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
