keyboard not found on toughbook CF-20

cn flag

I'm trying Ubuntu 20.04 on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 (a convertible laptop/tablet machine https://www.panasonic.com/content/dam/pim/au/en/CF/CF-20/CF-20/CF-20MK1%2520Brochure.pdf) from the startup disk to check things work properly before installing.

A few things I thought wouldn't work at first (like touchscreen) are actually working but it looks like the keyboard is not detected at all (there is no keyboard section in the settings).

Also the on screen keyboard is not working: it shows up but pressing on keys has no effect.

This happens if I try t write in a browser or in a text document. The weirdest thing is that if I open Ubuntu's activities bar both on screen and physical keyboards work.

Any ideas about what's happening there would be much appreciated.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
