You've tagged you're running Lubuntu (ie. LXQt desktop) but say you're running Ubuntu-MATE. Please provide OS & release details as what you've provided contradicts (MATE is a GTK3 desktop, LXQt used by Lubuntu is a Qt5 desktop, and what you're asking about is desktop related)

Click on the grid to open applications; at the top (in the search bar), enter 'startup' and click on the suggested 'startup applications'. You can then add the programs you want to open when you start up.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
