Why does YouTube consume one vCPU?

ca flag

I am using Ubuntu 18.04. Recently, almost for one month, every time I go to YouTube, Google Chrome consumes one full vCPU 100%, which causes my laptop's fans to start spinning as fast as they can. This happens only when I go to YouTube, even if I just go to youtube.com and do not play any video.

I updated Chrome to the latest version (Version 94.0.4606.61 (Official Build) (64-bit)) but that didn't solve the issue. I have no idea where to look to start solving the issue.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
