Cannot Login to ProtonMail via Any Browser ONLY on Ubuntu

id flag

OK, so I am new to Ubuntu. I installed it already but kept having problems so did a re-install and everything worked better, except this problem. Before the reinstall, I was able to login to ProtonMail and other web-based services just fine. After reinstall, I cannot login. It gives me a message saying "Username required," although I already entered it. It is strange. I am able to reboot to Windows and login fine. Other devices login just fine via web browser. I was going to contact Proton, but since this problem appears to be unique to Linux, I thought maybe I would start here first (hoping it'll be a no-brainer for you more experienced users). I am using Firefox and Brave. Any help is much appreciated.

UPDATE

Ubuntu 20.04

Yes, using ProtonVPN. Also using it on Windows PC's that don't have this problem, which is why I have not suspected it.

Have you tried a different browser, such as Chrome?

I had trouble with Firefox, so I downloaded Brave, which is based on Chrome.**

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu. We need a lot more information to try to answer your question. Which version of Ubuntu are you using? Which browser are you using? Are you using any VPN either as a browser plugin or in Ubuntu? Are you using the browser in incognito mode? Have you tried a different browser, such as Chrome? Please [edit your question](https://askubuntu.com/posts/1368679/edit) and add all these information (and anything else others may ask you) inside your original question above. As an aside, this is a question answer site, questions about a good book is not appropriate here.

Try disabling the ProtonVPN and test the mail again. Then update the question. The Windows client app for the VPN and the Linux VPN client app may have different features/bugs.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
