I just turn the system on and this shows up, and it stays like this forever.I don't know much about Linux.

From that screen, would you be able to try hitting `[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F4]` (or if that does nothing `[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Fn]+[F4]`) and see if you can get to a text interface? That should give us a better idea of what might be going on.

it does something weird, it asks for my username and password, and then let's me input commands. But while this is happening the previous screen blinks in and out.

I have been trying all day and no luck, when I go into previous kernels through grub some of them take me to the ubuntu log in screen but the mouse and keyboard will not work

when I input the username and password, it tells me I can upgrade to 20.04.3 LTS, should I do that?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
