Install of ubuntu 20.10 fails to boot

de flag

Default install of Ubuntu fails to boot ("No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed"). I tried different hard drives to be sure.

"Boot device: UEFI : Kingston... " shows up in my Bios start device selector, but it does not start.

I used "boot-repair" to try to fix the boot, but it fails too.

Boot-repair diagnostic (https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/mjYJjshHzb/) mentions "Please disable BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode in your UEFI firmware" but I don't have this option on my firmware.

I can boot on the "live install" hard-drive, but all my other attempts at installing ubuntu have failed to boot on this 10 years old PC (Intel Atom CPU D2700 with 4GB RAM).

Any suggestion / help is very welcomed !

Could you [edit] your question to include: (0) which version of Ubuntu you’re trying to install (1) the amount of RAM on the machine (2) the terminal output of `sudo lshw -class storage -class disk` when running the Live USB. With this, it may be possible to offer some solutions

The Boot Repair summary mentions Ubuntu 20.10, out of support a long time ago. Only 20.04 LTS or the current 21.10 should be used but for that hardware the standard Ubuntu isn't recommended. Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu-Budgie, Ubuntu-MATE tax less the ancient and underpowered CPU/GPU.

Thanks for your suggestions. I updated the question with the requested info. Also, I tried Lubuntu & Xubuntu 21.10, but I cannot even get the PC to boot on the USB boot disk !

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
