Installing ubuntu with secure boot disabled?

mn flag

Since my Ubuntu Live USB does not have shimx64.efi files, I'm installing Ubuntu with Secure Boot disabled. I have no choice.

Can I just enable secure boot later on my computer? Will that break anything like kernel modules that weren't signed before?

How do you have a live installer without shimx64.efi? Or did you create a BIOS/CSM/Legacy install using Rufus? Rufus for one creates either UEFI only or BIOS only installers. Most tools create an installer that is either & you choose as you boot from UEFI boot menu the UEFI option. I do not use Secure boot, but default install adds both shimx64.efi & grubx64.efi. If you install in UEFI mode, but not secure boot, you have to reinstall grub, kernel & drivers. And if proprietary drivers required you assign your own Secure boot Key for those. UEFI should also use gpt partitioning.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
