UBUNTU 20.04 simply switching from USB-C to HDMI Did not work

cn flag

I have an intel nuc that has a USB-C port and and an HDMI Port. When i switch from USB-C to HDMI I get a black screen on my My HP LCD monitor. When I am connected to USBC I use a cable with USBC on the Intel Nuc and HDMI on the other end.(This works fine) The cable I am switching to is simple and tested HDMI cable. I only get black display on the HP LCD monitor. Cable switches like this work all day long on osx and windows. Not on Linux? Do I need to reset the settings to 'tell' it i am switching cables? Any ideas?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
