anything related to amdgpu dkms freezes my pc until a hard reboot

ph flag

anything related to amdgpu-dkms will crash my system, the first time i tried installing amdgpu it froze at 97% while "loading new amdgpu DKMS files...", i waited a while then gave up and hard rebooted my system, which broke it, making me reinstall lubuntu, the second time i let it run overnight and it froze at the same place, this time when i rebooted it seemed to work though, however while installing some package it attempted to fix the dkms files and now i can't install packages because every time i try to install anything it says that dpkg was interrupted and that i have to fix it, but when i do it freezes and crashes again. When the system is frozen, I've attempted opening a tty, but that won't open either.

You've not provided release details; if using a non-LTS release, or using the LTS release with HWE stack? and if using the LTS release; if you tried the other GA stack choice you have available to you.

I am on the LTS release, how would I go about switching to the other stack?

The default kernel stack is selected by the ISO used to install; Lubuntu 20.04 & 20.04.1 media defaulted to the GA (most *stable*) stack; with 20.04.2 & later media defaulting to HWE stack. Refer https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack and search for the "*To downgrade from HWE/OEM to GA kernel:*" section

I am unable to downgrade to the GA stack, as when i try i get `E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. ` However, running `sudo dpkg --configure -a` will freeze my system, and after a reboot the problem is not solved. Is there a way to ignore this, or cancel whatever dpkg is trying to do here?

You need to fix package issues first, otherwise a re-install is your alternative fix (to fix package issues; it was written about a little at https://discourse.lubuntu.me/t/testing-checklist-understanding-the-testcases/2743 in the "*install using existing partition*" testcase). If the system is frozen (mouse doesn't move, text terminals don't work, SysRq commands can't direct kernel safe reboot etc) then you have issues with your box or packages installed don't match your hardware I suspect, but we cannot help without seeing those messages (or details usually found in logs that provide clues)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
