How to restore or reinstall Print Service

ru flag

I've been looking for days, but have been unable to find anything on how to restore or reinstall Print Service. I'm using Kubuntu 20.04 which the Prints--System Settings Module is now saying the Print Service is unavailable (dead) and a "bad file descriptor". I've only been able to find items that are written for other programmers rather than for a simple user, except one on YouTube that doesn't work as described. Please let me know how to provide information to help with this.

How about giving a mention of the printer make and model and whether it is USB or wireless connected?

The Printer is a Canon MF-641Cw with both USB and Ethernet Connections with the Ethernet being plugged into my router. when I open Print Service, It won't even look for any printer. I've tried to run a Canon Installer designed for Ubuntu, but it too is unable to run. When I boot to Windows (which I hate to do unless absolutely necessary) it finds the printer with no trouble, and I am able to print from there.

I now see that I neglected to mention that I upgraded CUPS from 2.3.1 to 2.3.3 recently. However, I believe this ran fine for about a week before the failure.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
