Cups randomly spewing out blank pages

bd flag

I'm using cups to send PDF files from PHP to the printing server. This goes well for a label printer but the actual laser printer has some issues. Sometimes it prints the PDF fine but sadly the other times it decides to spew out blank pages until it has no pages left.

I sadly have no clue how to resolve this as I can't replicate it 100% of the time and it seems to occur randomly.

OS: Ubuntu 21.10
Cups Version: 2.3.3op2-7ubuntu2

This is from the cups printers config in /etc/cups/printers.conf

Does anyone know how to resolve this? Or perhaps can recommend a alternative to cups?

Look in the CUPS logs to determine which file is causing what we called "slew to End-Of-Box" back in the olden days (IBM Model 1403 Printer). Check that `lpoptions` and CUPS (browse `http://localhost:631/printers`) agree on page size, paper type, etc.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
