Ubuntu server 20.04.3 LTS fail to install with virtio block

ar flag

As usual, I want to create a VM with VirtIO Block on my Proxmox server but since a month the installation fail, but if I choose SCSI as bus it work.

I have kubuntu, xubuntu, debian, openmediavault and univention all installed with the same virtual configuration which is mainly all virtIO

  • cpu: host
  • hd: virtio with cache write-back and discard option enabled
  • lan: virtio and they all work well.

for my ubuntu server I tried

  • hd: virtio with cache write-back and discard option enabled
  • hd: virtio with cache default (no cache) and discard option enabled
  • hd: virtio with cache default (no cache) and discard option disabled
  • hd: scsi with cache write-back and discard option enabled

and it only works when I choose SCSI which it is new for me, because since 16.04 I always installed my Ubuntu server with virtio

Does anybody experience a similar situation ?

here the end of crash log:

since I'm limited to 30000 charaters

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
