Endless Install

in flag

I'm installing Ubuntu 21.10 from a live USB drive on a Toshiba laptop with core i5 and 8 GB ram.

I prepared a 40 GB partition and a swap one.

when installation starts, a slide show of new features goes on but leaving it for more than hour, it never tells installation is complete.done or you can now restart ...etc.

I'm so frustrated, Any help

Do the installation logs (which can be expanded during the installation) say anything?

You're a little light on specifics; are you talking about a desktop install using `ubiquity`? or server install using `subiquity`?. Did you open a term (or switch to terminal) and look for issues? (*I tend to*). By exploring `/var/log/installer` on my *canary* ISO I just had fail (QA-test); I can see some details provided by `subiquity`... Did you verify your ISO? Did the `casper-md5check` verification complete successfully? (*mine did even if I can't understand most of it*) or were *squashfs* errors visible as a clue as to why? (in `journalctl`)..

I used YUMI - Multiboot USB Creator to create a Bootable Pen Drive with downloaded ISO file. the installation logs (which can be expanded during the installation) did not appear this time while installing. In previous tries it did appear with a skip button in the right to it. so I could not expand to view details!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
