Front panel audio doesn't work on 20.04

br flag

I have Gigabyte B560 AORUS MB. I connected headphones to my front panel (with analog - jack - connector), yet they don't work. In the sound panel, it seems all correct: enter image description here.

My alplay -l output is:

aplay -l

but, what's interesting, the alsamixer doesn't seem to contain front panel channel:

how should I tackle this?

Your front panel audio isn't HDMI nor is it USB. These are the only interfaces that are showing up in your system. Did you build this PC? Are you sure that the front panel headers are connected correctly? It would show up as an analog device.

Yup, I'm quite sure it's connected correctly since I have Windows on multi-boot and it works well on it.

What is the model of your audio adapter?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
