External monitor Brightness and Contrast* control GUI

in flag

I've just installed Ubuntu a few days ago and I want to be able to control the brightness and contrast of my external monitor (LG 27 inch 4K display) with ease. I've documented and there are a few options like ddcutil (which I now use), but I have a few issues with the performance.

Calling the following command ddcutil setvcp 12 - 10 will be resolved in about 4-5 seconds. I've read about improving performance but didn't helped me.

I've also tried ddcui which appears to be way better (performance wise) but still not comparable to ClickMonitorDDC (on Windows) so I presume that the limitation is software based, not hardware.

Is there anything I can do to have a decent experience using ddcutil or another DDC control software on Ubuntu? How you guys are controlling the external monitor brightness / contrast? (with software)

Thank you for your time!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
