Ubuntu will not install completely on my laptop

in flag

I am trying to put ubuntu on my windows 10 laptop. Everything is fine as I load from a dvd but shortly before the install program end I note that it is removing everything. When it appears to be finished it displays the installation complete message and requests reboot. After doing so it notifies remove media as it should. But then the pc boots into windows. On inspection there is no sign of ubuntu on the hard drive, What is causing this. I am a old newbie! My PC has single drive. I was trying to install alongside windows. I followed prompts from the ubuntu install and let it do the rest. I watched it running the script throughout and noticed it removing many of the files. The boot menu shows no ubuntu option.I have now disabled fast boot, but haven't yet tried to reinstall ubuntu. Help most gratefully received.

Can you [edit] your question to include if (1) this computer has multiple drives and (2) what exactly you did in the installer? Did you do install and overwrite Windows? Alongside Windows? Something else? (3) When you go to your computer's boot menu (not BIOS, boot menu), is there an option for Ubuntu? Usually, you can access it by pressing one of the function keys.

1st Guess is Windows fast boot (needs disabled) but follow directions above.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
