Running xrandr causes second monitor to stop working

ve flag

I am on Ubuntu 20.04 and I have connected an external monitor. It works fine but on running the xrandr command or opening Settings, both my screens go black for a second and then the external monitor stops working and shows "No Input". I can reconnect the monitor while the Settings app is open, and then it shows both displays, but as soon as I drag the display and apply changes the same problem happens (second monitor goes no input).

The xrandr command only gives a response after the second monitor crashes.

I face similar problems with some other applications as well.

I have tried to search on the internet, but can't find a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
