rEFInd does not show when turning on MacBook Pro

cn flag

Today I reinstalled MacOs on my MacBook Pro and tried to follow these instructions to set up dual booting MacOS and Ubuntu. I followed all of these instructions up to installing rEFInd by dragging the install file into terminal and pressing ENTER.

However, the instructions now say I should just restart my laptop and rEFInd should now appear, but this does not happen and my MacBook just boots normally. What do I have to do to get rEFInd to show on boot?

Thanks (from an enthusiastic beginner)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
