Mouse wheel works slow after lock

in flag

I am using Ubuntu 20.04 with mate desktop.

Sometimes it happens that when I resume after locking system, the mouse wheel works really slow, independent on the application (web browser, libre-office, etc..)

If I suspend and then resume, the problem is gone sometimes, but it is not consistent.

Is it a known bug? Any solution for that?

======== UPDATE (1) ========
I checked the mouse-wheel scroll in browser, using document.documentElement.scrollTop in order to check its functionality.

With normal behavior, each tick of the mouse wheel scrolls 53 pixels:

When I have the scroll problem, only one of 5-10 ticks will perform a scroll (of 53px).

I use Logitech M720 mouse with no special driver, I don't know if this information might be relevant.

======== UPDATE (2) ========
I have just found this question. I tried to unplug the USB and reconnect it, and it fixed the problem. Again, if this does give somebody an idea what can I do...

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
