Cannot get sound to work on Acer Swift 3

ua flag

I've spent most of the day trying to get the sound to work on my laptop after installing Ubuntu 20.04. When I go on Settings > Sound I see 'Dummy Output'. I followed the steps here https://www.linuxuprising.com/2018/06/fix-no-sound-dummy-output-issue-in.html and I briefly had options for 'HDMI / DisplayPort - Built-in Audio' and 'Speakers - Built-in Audio'. I still didn't have sound, though. I continued tinkering using steps on other websites but then managed to revert things back to only having the 'Dummy Output' option, I seem to have also uninstalled Alsamixer and I'm not sure how to get it back since nothing I have tried has worked so far.

Any suggestions are greatly apprecriated.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
