On tty1, run "htop" and then "login" on htop exit

Here's what I want:

When my Ubuntu server boots, run htop on it's screen. In case of emergency, quit htop will return to tty login.

Reply to Commect #1:

  • A dummy user for running htop might be a good choice.
  • "Emergency" means the need of using tty interface when, for example, ssh is unavaliable.

Running `htop` when not signed in with a user account? So it should run as `root`? What should be done about all the commands that are available via the application? Anyone walking by who has fingers could cause problems. What constitutes an “emergency”? Is this determined by the computer or by the person at the console?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
