Ubuntu 21.10 Software app weirdness

gf flag

I'm on Ubuntu 21.10 and have issues with the gnome-software installer application.

I am trying to remove and reinstall LibreOffice. In the Software application it shows the LibreOffice applications as installed (as expected). But, when I click on the Uninstall button I get an error. For example trying to remove Draw: enter image description here

Note that the Uninstall button is still there.

Same deal with the other applications.

So, I thought maybe it was installed as a snap. If I select Snap from the source dropdown it shows as not being installed but also deb as a source disappears.

In Synaptic it shows as uninstalled. So the Uninstall process must have worked in Software but for some reason it spits and error and still shows the Uninstall button for deb.

Is this just a buggy app or specific to my install? Is there something I can do to fix this (clear a cache or something?)?

I'm old school and always default to using deb installs. Am I better off using Snap or flatpack these days?

I don't know why but using Snap doesn't feel right. But it could be because I am old. Any advice appreciated

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
