Unable to to play audio through my DisplayPort connected monitor, paired to an NVIDIA GTX 1060

This are my sound cards, as detected by alsamixer and this is how my HDA NVidia card shows up. Can't modify any of the volumes.

Things I tried

  1. Removing 71-nvidia-rules as stated in a thread.
  2. Reinstalling a newer NVidia driver
  3. Reinstalling alsa and pulse audio and force-reloading it
  4. Adding my user to the audio group with sudo adduser ubuntu(my user) audio

I'm really out of ideas now, and can't seem to find any answers online that would work for me.

Welcome to AskUbuntu, the display port normally doesn't send an audio output, HDMI does. If you connect via HDMI cable between your Graphics Card and Display with a sound output, it should work.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
