Keyboard shortcut for lock screen no longer works even when set to something else (21.10)

in flag

Recently upgrade to 21.10. Have noticed keyboard shortcut for lockscreen isn't working. I suspect some conflicting extension or some other setting somewhere. Have tried change it though and still nothing is working. Lock screen from menu does work correctly.

UPDATE:

Seems like it is not shortcut but some error.

tail -f /var/log/syslog

Jan 18 10:11:01 xxxx gsd-media-keys[2469]: Couldn't lock screen: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.Shell.ScreenShield was not provided by any .service files

Maybe related? Lock screen not working

UPDATE:

After some fiasco with purging gnome-shell-common and then running the apt install ubuntu-desktop (because I could not log in) lock screen is working again. Not sure which step worked.

Works correctly for me on 21.10, after an upgrade as well. Try resetting in Keyboard settings, System. Difficult for us to tell anything about " some conflicting extension or some setting" obviously.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
