20.04 MATE desktop missing Deja-Dup indicator

us flag

I recently updated several home systems from 18.04 LTS Ubuntu with LXDE desktop to 20.04 LTS Ubuntu with MATE desktop.

In the prior config when doing a Deja-Dup backup, an indicator appeared in the system tray that, when moused over, gave a progress report in %.

In the current config I do not get this indicator.

Since I upgraded & changed the desktop simo, I don't know which change made the indicator not appear. Is there a way to get it back?

Technically there are only two Deja-Dup related packages in [the repositories](https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=all&searchon=names&keywords=deja%20dup). You have to add indicator-applet-complete and/or notification area applets to MATE Panel and then try to find indicator there.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
